The California Complete Count Effort (CCE) has used information provided by the United States Census Bureau to help target the 10 top priority areas in California, they include: Los Angeles, San Diego, San Bernardino, Orange, Fresno, Riverside, Sacramento, Kern, Alameda and San Francisco Counties. CCE used Title I, Part A fund allocations to help illustrate and determine additional counties that will have a vested interest in ensuring their county has the most complete and accurate census count. The State is encouraging all district to participate, but has decided to target primary efforts towards districts that received over 3 million in Title, I funds. The 2009-2010 school year 58 counties received over $1.4 billion in school funding based on data from the California Department of Education. The state is promoting and encouraging K-12 schools to use the statewide toolkit to help in promoting census messaging in the Hard-to-Count districts.
