Coordinating and Leveraging Statewide Outreach
The State’s role is to “convene, collaborate and coordinate” outreach efforts to all Californians.
By leveraging existing State outreach efforts and bringing together foundations, community-based organizations, schools, local government, Complete Count Committees and private sector resources statewide, a successful outreach effort through multi-sector funding can be implemented. Focusing the limited funding from various partners on the most effective activities and efforts during Census 2000 will maximize the potential of a complete count for California in 2010.
The California Complete Count effort has been actively working with partners throughout the State to weave together a patchwork of “outreach coverage” targeting the Hardest to Count areas.
